Mounds View Alumni Choir

I just wanted to post a message to everyone about the Mounds View Alumni Choir. The choir consists of graduating students of Mounds View from the beginning of the school to present. We have members from the very first graduating class! The choir has been together since 1997. We first got together to perform for the Mounds View 40th All Class reunion and had such a great time that we decided to continue to meet and perform in the spring and during the Christmas holiday season. As far as I know I am the only current member from the class of 1978! We are always looking for more people to come and sing with us. If you were a member of any of the choirs and graduated from Mounds View you are eligible to become a member. We meet every other Saturday from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. at Mounds View during the regular school year. The school has changed a lot over the years with new additions, a new theater, choir, band and orchestra wing. I know there are a lot of people I used to sing with and would love to sing with again. Come, join and represent the class of '78!

Mark Schmaedeke

Mark Schmaedeke is a husband, father of four, Roseville Firefighter and much loved friend who has redeveloped Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer that has now moved into his lungs. In November of 2003, Mark was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and had a long fight that nearly resulted in remission. Unfortunately just months after he had begun to feel well again he and his family were greatly disappointed when they discovered the cancer has redeveloped. Through his fight with Lymphoma, members of the Roseville Fire Department helped to care for Mark and his family, delivering home cooked meals every week, shoveling snow, mowing grass and cleaning gutters. Now, that this cancer is more difficult to treat, extensive chemotherapy treatments and stem cell transplants are sometimes
necessary.

Unfortunately, the costs incurred with this illness are astronomical, as well as many additional illness related expenses. The Roseville Firefighters are determined to see our brother firefighter, and friend, survive. Please join the Roseville Firefighters to help Mark and his family, win his battle with cancer.

Because of the efforts of the KFAN and staff, they were able to raise over $75,000 for the Schmaedeke family.

Mounds View High School

Has anyone been in Mounds View High School lately? I was there on May 3, 2007 for the play "High School Musical". (Great performance by the students!) You would not recognize it at all. It has been added onto and changed so much, all for the good. The last time I was there prior to this was in 1998, and it still looked the same. From the moment you walk in the front door, it is different. I was kind of shocked. There are also only two people still working there that were there when we were there (I think), they are John Madura the Orchestra teacher and Pricilla the nurse.

Help us find!

Steve Berglund supplied me with the Graduation Marching Order, (thanks Steve) and there were many students listed there that did not have photo's. I have added their names in the yearbook with no picture.

Here is a list of those people that I could find no photo's for (I did go thru all three of our high school yearbooks):

Judy Blasczyk is Judy Blackey
Patrick Burk
Steve Christian
Mark Fobaire
Soheila Hagghani
Dianna Harris
Robin Hendrix
Jari Hoikkala
Gundja Honold
Kathy Hudson
Russell Mann
Michael Manning
Paula Mills
Terri Nelson
Seemal Raheel
Siyamak Rahmani
Joseph Ringer
Donald Schleicher
William Vaughan
Theresa Weik

If anyone has a picture of these people or even have their pics from junior high, you could send them to me so that I can at least get some photo of them on our yearbook page.
